Top Ten Books I Read in 2015

I've said it before, I'll say it again--I did not read nearly as much as I would have liked this year. But I still happened upon a ton of great books! Here are my top reads of 2015!
All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
I was completely taken aback by this book. It was an emotional roller coaster and I was stunned for days. This book will always be in my heart.

Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen
Sarah Dessen, you goddess, you. This book definitely swept into my heart and I am more than okay with it! This one has made it's way to my list of favorite Dessen books.

Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins
Thank you Ms. Perkins! This novel renewed my love for books and got me back into the blogging world. You can read my review, if you'd like.

Fever by Lauren DeStefano
Hah. This is the only book on my list that isn't a contemporary. Whoops! Anyway, I have really been loving this series, and though Fever is the second book in the trilogy, it is definitely my favorite. You can read my review of Wither and my thoughts on Fever. My review for Sever will be posted tomorrow!

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
I feel like I was the last one to discover how awesome this book is! But it is awesome. And I'm so happy I finally read it!
Saving June and Speechless by Hannah Harrington
I put off reading these two books for so long because I wasn't sure how interested in them I would actually be, but I fell in love. I definitely need more Hannah Harrington in my life.

To All the Boys I've Loved Before and P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han
I've loved Jenny Han for years, so I was beyond eager to read these two new books by her. Glad to inform y'all that I was not disappointed.

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
So I'm about 30 years late to this party, but I read this for my YA lit class last semester, and I just fell in love with it. An oldie but goodie, without a doubt.

Tell me about the best books you've read this year!

  2. Wow I haven't read any of these! I rarely read contemporary though, so I guess it's not a huge surprise. I DO love Jenny Han, and I still need to finish her Summer series, let alone get started on the rest. And would you believe that I've never read The Outsiders? So at least you know you're not the last one to it :)

  3. Fellow lefty here *waves*. I love that you read The Outsiders for the first time just recently and loved it! I always wondered what I would think of it if I read it again so many years later (I think I read it in 6 grade??)... anyhow I also loved Isla and To All the Boys (still need to read PS I Still Love You). Definitely still want to read Saint Anything and Speechless. Great list!!

  4. Yes!! I totally agree about Isla. And I have Saint Anything checked out from the library right now--I NEED to read it! It's my plan right after I finish Winter.

  7. Saint Anything is a favorite Dessen book?!?! High praise! She's so good. My favorite is This Lullaby...but than again, I haven't read Saint Anything...YET!

I've only read Wither, which was right when it came out, and never got to reading Fever & Sever...which is ridiculous b/c DeStefano's writing is gorg. I will get on that ASAP.

    Lara Jean & Peter <3<3<3<3<3

  8. This Lullaby is my ALL TIME favorite Dessen, so hooray!! Saint Anything is probably just in my top 5, though it is so freaking hard to choose because all her books are fantabulous!

But yes, you really should continue The Chemical Gardens series. Her writing is absolutely beautiful! The books could be total crap, but I'd still read them because that writing keeps me hooked!

    Thanks for stopping by!

  9. Saint Anything is amazing, of course. Dessen doesn't disappoint! I, on the other hand, really need to finish The Lunar Chronicles. So we're even! Hahah. Thanks for stopping by!

  10. Oh yay! I'm not the last! I had really never even heard of The Outsiders until that class, which is really surprising considering how well-known it is.

  11. Hooray for the lefty club! Yeah, The Outsiders was really good. It was a quick read, but I enjoyed it a lot. I really had no clue what it was about going into it, and it certainly surprised me.

And you should for sure read those books, especially if you're a contemporary fan. Fantastic reads!!

    Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read what I have to say and give your opinion on it. It really means a lot to me. And of course, I will do my best to return the favor. However, as easily distracted and scatter-brained as I am, please don't be offended if I forget to comment on your blog.
